General Questions

  • No. As an Ontario agency, we work within Ontario. Unless our Subject of investigation travels out of the province during a pursuit, our Private Investigators work within Ontario.

  • No. All -Inclusive Prices are a package plus Harmonized Sales Tax. However, should you wish to continue surveillance after the 8 hour mark, regular overtime begins.

  • The Investigator would advise our office to inform you about the progress of the case for your permission to continue surveillance. With results in mind, we would agree on per hourly basis at this juncture to proceed further.

    Similarly, if you purchased All-Inclusive Pricing, there would be no refund if there is no activity after the 8 hour mark.

  • We are a result oriented company and therefore only employ the best trained and experienced Private Investigators, licensed by the Private Security & Investigative Services, under the Ontario Government.

    We also, engage with potential prospects and train them to attain the level of mastery in our industry. As our focus is practically geared on obtaining results, while saving you money, within the confines of the law.

  • Yes, a retainer amount would be arranged should you wish to do so. We would also require you sign a Retainer Agreement before we proceed with the investigation.

    Please note, the minimum hours for the day would be 4 Hours + Km + Travel Time.

  • Our rate depends on the type of case at hand - from $65/Hour to $150/Hour @$0.75 - $0.80/Km.

  • No. The law does not allow you to track your Subject’s vehicle or a vehicle you co-own without his/her consent. However, you can track your own vehicle anytime without the consent of the driver. Moreover, commercial vehicles can be tracked as long as there is prior agreement at the time of employment or during the course of employment with the driver(s). According to the Criminal code of Canada, a warrant is necessary to track a vehicle by police. Normally for 60 days.

  • Yes. To achieve a significant result and maintain discretion on our part, we would ask that you disclose any previous surveillance conducted, how long ago and the results you obtained, to better understand what measures we could deploy to assist you further. Discretion is indeed key!

COURSE QUESTIONS

  • Yes, we teach the Security Guard course into detail to prepare and assist every student in their 1st attempt to pass their Ministry Exam.

  • Security Guards training with Ascent will receive;

    1. Training Certification Number (TCN#)

    2. Certificate

    3. Reference Letter for a Job.

  • Mandatory 33.5 Hours (Without CPR & First Aid)

    40 Hours Total (With First Aid & CPR)

    This takes approximately 2 weeks!

  • Yes. There is mandatory 50 Hours of Course lecturing and Field Training. As you can expect, we go vividly into how to become a fine Private Investigator. Our main goal is to make you become one of the best in the industry. In fact, 100% of our graduates have passed the exam on their very first attempt.

  • Bronze Package - $800.

    Silver Package - $1100.

    Gold Package - $1600.

  • We lecture both in-person and online through the use of Zoom Conferencing. However, our in-person classes are scheduled in advance for field training depending on which package you purchased. E.g., if you had purchased the Bronze Package, we would spend approximately 2 hours on Field Trip.

  • Depending on what package you purchased. The course would take between 4 weeks to 6 weeks. Each class has a maximum capacity of 24 Students.

  • In fact, 80% of an investigator’s work is on the field with 10% on reporting and 10% on editing video captured. Notwithstanding, not all recorded video muster as evidence and useable in a court of law. The effectiveness of the Investigator’s Filed Work determines how their reporting read, look and muster in court.

    Our aim is to equip investigators with correct procedures and the practical way of conducting surveillance on the field. Unfortunately, it’s practically impossible to teach all these by watching videos and reading manuals.
